Journal Entry (3.18.2011, Teru Titian)

Should there be a dress code in places such as school, restaurants, and places of business? Why or why not?

I feel that there should be some sort of dress code enforced in these places. In schools, while individuality is encouraged students shouldn't have offensive sayings on their shirts. They also shouldn't have clothes that are too revealing. In restaurants, and other similar places, a different code should apply. While it doesn't matter what one's shirt says, or what style they wear, it should be that, as with schools, clothing shouldn't be too revealing. The reason I think this should be in place, is to ensure the comfort of other customers. Not everyone wants to see all that. And lastly, with places of business, I feel that, as with everywhere else, a certain amount of censorship should be enforced. And, even though a lot of places wish for business men and women to have a more formal look, I don't think that's exactly necessary.
